Pretty in Prada

I just came across these gorgeous Prada woven heels for Spring 2011 and they are so fun for a Friday. I know this a design blog but they would look phenomenal on my feet in my home so I think that qualifies? If I owned these I think I would be inspired to do cart wheels, dance on my coffee table...

like Sally Perrin in her Paris home for Harper's Bazaar, only pretty sure she is not dancing, just being fabulous!

Maybe I might be inspired to paint a room hot pink and accent it with black? The inspiration is endless so these shoes may be a must for Spring or they may just have to stay in my Look- book at least. If I close my eyes I can hear the birds chirping, see the buds blooming, and imagine the sweet smell of Spring.

Happy Friday!

Lela Rose and Stylish Bloggers

Hello Wednesday and all the sunshine you bring, what a beautiful day!
I am feeling a little pep in my step today and excited to to share with you a few tidbits.

A dear friend, who I mentioned in a previous post this summer Problem Solved is Ashley Vermillion Harris the creative genius behind her ladies clothing store Vermillion located here in Raleigh, NC. I was green with envy,(still am) because she attended the Spring 2010 fashion show at the home of fashion designer Lela Rose in her Tribeca home and drum roll, to top that she had the pleasure of meeting Celerie Kemble. Really, how lucky can one gal be? That is my girl always bumping elbows with the people you dream of.
Ashley has started a blog for Vermillion and has detailed her adventure as well as links to the NY Times article and pictures of Rose's home which is amazing and very different from what you may expect based on her classic somewhat conservative designs...a must see.

This is part of dining room.

Lela's son's room, the shape of the bed and the colors I love.

On a really fun note Maureen from Eclectic Revisited awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award. Thank you so much Maureen, I look forward to paying it forward and would definietly give it back to you but that would be the 3rd time...you Stylish Blogger!  So what is a stylish blogger, well not really sure other than the rules listed below...kind of like one of those chain letters you get only it sounds more chic?
After receiving this award you have to pay it forward and follow the rules:
Rules
#1) Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
#2) Share 7 things about yourself.
#3) Award 10 great bloggers that you have RECENTLY discovered
#4) Contact those bloggers and tell them about the award

…and to all our readers…thank-you for reading and encouraging us bloggers…sometimes it’s a lonely world until we get “discovered” and things pick up… and by all means…post comments to as many of the blogs you drop in on, just to say “Hi”, and that you appreciate what that blogger has to offer… it makes a big difference in being able to keep up with blogging…..

Hello my dear friends I am in need of divine inspiration today on this icky ice day. My current inspiration board is getting the heave ho, as in filed away for a rainy day and new images I have collected are going up for 2011. I loved the new issue of Lonny that went live yesterday...as always, like a kid in a candy shop! A lot of great images and always a favorite is designer Hillary Thomas. Her eclectic design is something that really attracts me and stirs up my creative senses. Thank you Hillary and others including Bunny Williams for helping me get my creative mojo back this week.

Day Dreaming

With snow in the forecast for this week all I think about is how heavenly it would be to hop on a plane and end up in some exotic locale that is really warm...I mean warm. Splurging on a few new fantastic resort pieces and a spray tan as to not scare anyone are a necessity for this trip. Let's not forget the fruity cocktails, possible a cabana boy, oh and maybe some spa treatments too.
A girl can can dream right?

Carpe Diem

Happy New Year and Happy Day to you. It is hard to believe the year 2011 is upon us when it wasn't terribly long ago that this year seemed like something out of a Sci-fi movie. Well here we are a New Year, new goals, challenges, and a fresh palette.
It was a year ago when I wrote down my business/personal goals for 2010 and this blog was first on the list. I never anticipated what it would do for me, my business or even how many people if any would visit. I am overwhelmed and thankful for all the support each one of you have given me on this journey. Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate a following from around the world, I was just hoping for my friends to follow.
So for 2011 please drop me a line, if there is something you would like to see more of please do tell, and if you want to just say hello...you make my day!
For now, I am off to organize, clean, and try to stay the course of my New Year's resolutions.
I am considering a Gwynnie Paltrow Cleanse for the body although I will say I am not very good at these things but the holiday food, sweets, and tasty beverages are taking a toll on the bod. It is time to take charge of the situation as well as my office which was turned into Santa's work shop, and my home that has been taken over by little people all under 4 ft. tall.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
