Pink Chicken

Pink Chicken of New York is an adorable children's clothing brand that I have been purchasing for my daughter since Moxie Kids a Raleigh based children's boutique opened a few years ago..."Wear the cool kids shop". I love this brand and all the unique prints they offer for little girls! So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that they just started offering women's clothing as well!
Beanie & Cecil, a women's clothing boutique with locations in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC sent out their look book and to my surprise was Pink Chicken for moi'.

How creative and beautiful are those tunic dresses on the fence, great advertising...I am sold.
How chic with a pair of metallic sandals!

Check out the coordinating little mini me Rosie dress shown above. Below they have a variety of colorful dresses perfect for summer.

To top off the Pink Chicken line could you please look at this adorable little girl in her Pink Berry bathing suit and swim cap...really can it be any cuter!

If you do not live in the area you can shop http://www.moxiekidsonline/ for their selection of Pink Chicken but if you do live in the area you are missing out if you don't give them a visit!

This is the sweetest for your little cherub!

Motherly Love

"Guided by my heritage of love of beauty and respect for strength-in search of my mother's garden, I found my own."
Alice Wake "In search of my mother's garden"

In honor of all the wonderful mothers including my beautiful mother Happy Mother's Day. I am going to enjoy the day with my wonderful children (who are being very nice today, wondering if daddy bribed them with something unknown to me) my mother, mother-n-law and some very special women who are amazing. How blessed am I. I hope all you hard working mother's take a rest today and pamper yourself...you deserve it!

Glamour Reigns

The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted their annual Costume Institute Gala over the weekend. This event known as the "social event of the season" is planned by Vogue and you can be sure everyone in attendance is dressed to impress!
This year's event was themed "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" and celebrated women in fashion. The event looked at styles between the 1890's and 1940's. Oprah was a co-host this year along with Anna Wintour of Vogue and Patrick Robinson the executive vice president of design for the Gap. The special performer was the one and only Lady Gaga and I could not think of a better choice for the theme of the Gala. Hmmm better start working on trying to find a way to be invited next year... maybe I could wear the peacock dress I featured in my earlier post! I love the glamourous gowns of this event and I am certain this year there were some of the best.

Boho Style

When I think of Boho many images come to mind but there are only a few people that currently top my list as Boho Chic and numero uno would be the lovely Sienna Miller...it seems that wikipedia feels the same way, she is under the definition as starting the trend in the 90's. Miller a British beauty came on the hollywood scene with beautiful natural looks, flowy gypsy- like skirts and wide-brimmed floppy hats. Her style like many people with age has evolved into an eclectic mix of sophistication and stylish whimsy.

Vintage

Vintage blogger and online shop http://www.adore-vintage.blogspot.com/ has some really great clothing, accessories and jewelry from all decades. I love this Boho Rhapsody necklace and 60's flower child maxi dress with embroidery and lace. Not only is the online shop wonderful but the blog fantastic too!

Parlor Textiles

For some time now Style Court has been blogging about the release of the upcoming North Carolina based textile studio by Angela Clinton, Parlor Textiles. I finally received an email confirming that the site was open and ready for business, selling fabric and pillows. The fabrics all have a very ethnic touch in calm colors that give them a vintage feel. If you want to read more about Parlor Textiles check out http://www.stylecourt.blogspot.com/  for their coverage or http://www.parlortextiles.com/.  Here is a peek at some of my favorites!
