Rock the Casbah

 Raquel 69 and still Rockin

Raquel Welch was on the Oprah show yesterday because she has come out with a new book Raquel: Beyond the Cleavage. She has been a sex symbol for over 40 years and you may recognize her from all those One Million B.C. posters where she looks like an exotic but gorgeous cave woman. She is a 69 year old mother of 2 and grandmother and I will say one rockin granny!

                                                     Thrill of The Hunt

If you are that way Easter weekend I would recommend checking it out. Also I will be making a trip again very soon to pick up a few things so let me know if there is anything in particular you are looking for. Everthing is refurbished and priced really well. Olivia Palermo has just come out with a new line of jewelry with Roberta Freyman. They combined their "passion for accessories, fashion and international travel." The pieces are inspired and named after their favorite cites, Berlin, Paris and New York. The necklaces are beautiful and can be bought online http://www.robertafreymann.com/. Olivia does has great taste as the few shots from her Manhattan apartment show.

Bring on the animals

I just received the April 2010 issue of Harper's Bazaar and wow Demi Moore on a ladder in 6, 7 inches heels maybe more by Alexander McQueen, feeding a giraffe. I mean how lucky can one lady be? The article is interesting and Demi talks about she does not like to be referred to as a "cougar" but a puma but then someone told her "pumas are only for people in their 30's." Yippee fellow thirty friends we are pumas! Needless to say Demi is a beauty in her on right on the inside and out it seems and she is married to Ashton Kutcher, who can Punk me anytime...did I just say that???!!!

I am a lover of animal prints and think they should be worn as a staple with any outfit whether it be shoes, scarf, vest, belt or what most of the stylish ladies have , coats. Kate Moss wears vintage leopard and rocks the look like no one else...although Kate Hudson is a close second in full body leopard!

For the little chic tots in your life a little dose of spots. How cute are these bloomers with a a tiny tee! If you love these run don't walk to Moxie Kids, they are the last pair.

Nina Campbell
Sylvan Bagatelle
The other day when I met with the Osborne and Little rep there were quite a few crocodile fabrics and wall coverings which I have to save the colors were exquisite! Osborne and Little's collection is Onyx-Caiman and it comes in your basic colors black, white, a pretty slate color. http://www.osborneandlittle.com/

Designers Guild has a vibrant crock collection, Nabucco which also comes in fabric and wall coverings. Shown below are beautiful peony and moss...gorgeous! This collection happens to featured in the April issue of Traditional Home.

Last but certainly not least is Nina Campbell's Sylvana Bagatelle Spot which is more animal than crock. The colors are so fresh and exciting I just can't help myself...anyone want to try one before I do something drastic!!!

Since we are still on the brink of Spring and those chilly nights I wanted to post this awesome dinner party idea that in Lucky magazine a few months ago! Set-up your outdoor fireplace, fire-pit, chiminia and buy some inexpensive sheepskins as chair covers to keep you warm and cozy. I found inexpensive small sheepskins at Costco and there is a little leather store at the local flea market that sells them for super cheap! She has prosecco served in little juice glasses with blackberries. It just looks like a fun cool spring night dinner party....hmm maybe for a farm!

Okay I am off for a much needed little girls retreat for some R and R and I hope that means rest and relaxation and not rocking and rolling at the beach! Happy Weekend to everyone and enjoy this beautiful weather!

In with the new

How fabulous is spring...love it! What I love more is the sight of these beautiful french tulips I picked up at my favorite local florist. They are so welcoming and a breath of fresh air this time of year. On the outside the trees are budding and the flowers are starting to sprout up everywhere, any day the city will be bursting with color! My day started out great, I went from seeing these beauties to looking at.....

Osborne and Little's beautiful Lorca collection

in silk. The picture really does not do it justice,

Carleton V has a flame stitch which is a fun, funky outdoor fabric that comes in
all these fun colors....I could seriously find a home for all of them!

There were so many new fresh fabrics to look through, ombres, linens, stripes and prints...it was pleasantly overwhelming!

It has been a few few days since I looked through the latest issue of Town and Country, which happens to be the special Travel Issue. I cannot go a day more without commenting about how chic Jenna Lyons looks attending the Studio Museum Fundraiser in Harlem.

                                                                 Town and Country

Jenna is the creative director for J Crew and her New York home has been featured in Living Etc. and Domino. I love how she looks so glamorous yet effortlessly put together. The fur vest adds a bourgeois look to her formal gown. I bet these beautiful pieces are hanging in this beautiful dressing room featured in Domino. Ohh...to hang there for the day!

                                                                   Domino Magazine

                                                                 F Schumacher
The latest issue of InStyle Magazine features the lovely home Julie Bowen decorated by her ever so talented sister Molly Luetkemeyer. The blogs are blazing with the Molly's projects, which are fabulous but I am really loving the large chaise in the living room of Julie's home in Schumacher's Pearl River. I love how Julie says her sister suggested the fabric because "colors can hide the throw up" ! As a designer with 3 small children I can totally relate and that is why I selected...

Schumacher's Pearl River for my breakfast area and family room. I mean, can you really see any spaghetti o stains on this fabric?

Last but certainly not least I am looking forward to my next trip to New York. After reading about Julie Janklow's new restaurant Sweetiepie in Greenwich Village I can hardly wait to take my little munchkins for a visit and maybe my daughter can have the signature drink  "Pinkalicious".
