A Few Thoughts

New Chic Sponsor

I am very excited to have Jessica Thomas Jewelry be a a new chic sponsor featured on Life of Style. I have been a fan of Jessica's work and next week she is going to let me inside her Raleigh, NC based studio and show me what inspires her to creates her beautiful jewels.
Check back for our visit and possibly a give-a-way. What bauble would I like for myself?

I could definitely start with these gorgeous Antique Filigree & Emerald Jade Earrings but my list does not stop there. Thanks Jessica!

A Few Thoughts

Hello Friends, I hope you had a splendid weekend! Busy here today so I will be back tomorrow but in light of recent events my thoughts today... celebrate life, love, family, friends, the small things, silly moments, some quiet time alone, and whatever makes you happy.

Fun Friday

Everyone loves Friday, what is there not to like? I for one have a few things up my sleeve this weekend, involving a little girl time, an estate sale, and enjoying some beautiful weather with my family. Does anyone have anything fabulous planned? Since Friday could be my most favorite day of the week I always see it fitting to post my favorite things. Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend!

Gywneth Paltrow

Yes, Gywneth I have always admired your exquisite taste, envied your work-out regimen, not to mention your wardrobe, marveled at your beautiful family but now I really have something to say for your bravery and stepping onstage to rock out at the CMA awards. Bravo Gwynnie, I will always be endeared to you.

Yes that girl can rock the stage just as well as a Valentino bow!

Jewel Toned Rooms

In preparation for the upcoming holidays I am looking to these jewel colored spaces for inspiration. Bold and sophisticated with a touch of glamour. Designer Miles Redd is known for his use of stunning colors and he does it again with the November issue of Veranda. I adore the brilliant green with the lush blue. The cover sells the magazine.

Fringe

Yes, I will admit I am a fan of the fringe and think that maybe it brings out some alternative side to me, possibly my native american heritage... hmm or could it just be the call of the wild?

These YSL heels are for the fashion fearless do you dare?

I bought these adorable little "Trampers" for my bohemian mini me.

A Home in the Country

I have always loved flowers, in particular the look of wild gardens that are maintained. So when I came across fashion designer Stella McCartney and her breathtaking home in the English countryside featured in this month's Vogue I fell in love. There are vines of wisteria, hyacinths, tulips, and many different trees that were given to McCartney and her husband as wedding gifts. What an amazing special place.

Thank You

Today on Veteran's Day I want to thank all the men and women who serve our country to protect us and those that have served before them, thank you, thank you.
I also want to thank all my friends, family, and, followers who have supported me along the way in my blogging adventure. I realized after my last post that is was my 100th, truly amazing, I never thought this time last year I would be where I am today. The knowledge I have gained and friends I have made along the way make this new journey more worthwhile each day. Here is to 100 more!

Little Miss Sunshine

I just love a baby and no I don't want anymore little babies but I do enjoy seeing other mom's precious new jewels and getting my baby fix now by being able to give it back to another mother. I delivered the last piece for an adorable baby girl's nursery today and I will refer to her as "Little Miss Sunshine" because she is just as bright and beautiful as the room her mother lovingly planned for her. We started out with green and yellow then decided to throw a hint of orange in the mix...hence the too cute for words pom pom fringe in candy colors from Kravet on the window treatments! Here are a few snapshots I took, definitely not professional but will have to do.

We covered the ottoman in Rio by China Seas and I just love the way the spots turned out, so chic for little baby girl.

Here is Rio shown in black as seen in Domino magazine.

6 Year Celebration

What a beautiful day and start to the week, the leaves are spectacular...I just love this time of year!
This past weekend we celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday, yes 6, I really cannot account for the past 6 years? Maybe that is because there have been 2 babies since and I have been in a mommy, pregnant, sleep deprived, moving through the actions but sometimes not really there haze. Needless to say my baby is 6 going on 16 and wanted to celebrate with pink, a little Selena Gomez and some Wizards of Waverly Place.  We had magic, face painting, and an awesome pink tent! Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so the use of the pink tent was just for looks and to make the birthday girl happy. Success, here is to another year!
Hope you enjoy a few pics from the big day.

Worldly Chic

It seems to be Friday today and I am not quite sure where the week has gone but who doesn't love the weekend? I know I do and it is supposed to be a gorgeous one here in NC.
On Tuesday you saw the home of Charleston, SC designer Angie Hranowsky which happens to be one of my favorite interiors over on Staci Edwards blog. If you haven't please check it out, it is very retro chic with a dose of vintage glamour, love it!
I thought I would just wrap up the week with another interior that is amazing in a worldly way. It is the Atlanta, GA home of visual interior stylist Thea Beasley, featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. Beasley's background in photography, art, " passion for things from nature" and love of different cultures exudes in her home giving it and "Old World" bohemian vibe. Indian influences, French furniture, and decorative accessories like the African headdresses in her living room make this interior a must see. Yes, the fireplace is covered in a mosaic of oyster shells, very cool.  Of course images of my favorite room, the master bath, are not featured online so if you have a chance pick-up a copy...zebra rug, chandelier, claw foot tub, Calgon take me away!
