The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted their annual Costume Institute Gala over the weekend. This event known as the "social event of the season" is planned by Vogue and you can be sure everyone in attendance is dressed to impress!
This year's event was themed "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" and celebrated women in fashion. The event looked at styles between the 1890's and 1940's. Oprah was a co-host this year along with Anna Wintour of Vogue and Patrick Robinson the executive vice president of design for the Gap. The special performer was the one and only Lady Gaga and I could not think of a better choice for the theme of the Gala. Hmmm better start working on trying to find a way to be invited next year... maybe I could wear the peacock dress I featured in my earlier post! I love the glamourous gowns of this event and I am certain this year there were some of the best.
